Woman in Black workshop

The day began on a cold winter’s morning at 7.00am in the bus park. After a long and traffic filled bus ride we finally arrived at the workshop destination -The Fortune Theatre in the showbiz West End of London.

Mike Southern (who previously played Sammy in Blood Brothers in the West End) was our workshop leader, assisted by a previous production manager of the show, and he led a fabulous, entertaining and chilling workshop based on the Woman in Black with King Edward's performing arts students. Technical theatre students were treated to a quick backstage tour of the show, with some secrets of the special effects used in the show being revealed to them. A memorable moment was when Mike and his assistant managed to scare EVERYONE using a simple trick and a trapdoor.

Students watched a matinee performance of the Woman In Black and were spooked and enthralled by this imaginative piece of theatre. An excellent and valuable experience enjoyed by all and I’m sure any of the students involved would thoroughly recommend you see this show!
