A wonderful presentation evening was held at the college on 20th December, to commend our sixth form students for their GCSE and AS level results and to present their certificates.
The evening begin with a brief welcoming address from the Principal who praised all of the students for their hard work throughout their time at the college.
Mr Frost, Director of Sixth Form and Miss Bowles, Assistant Director of Sixth Form then introduced members of the college choir who started the celebration with the well- known Christmas carol, “Joy to the World.”
The first group of students were then called to the stage to receive their commemorative scroll as proud parents and grandparents applauded their achievements.
Each presentation was followed by another musical performance. “Yuletide Blues”, an original composition by students Sam Wright and Adam Frankland, was very well received and had the audience tapping their feet to the rhythm. Magnum Mysterium and O’ Holy Night performed by members of the choir with soloists Jada Newbold and Sophie Simpson left the audience feeling relaxed, very impressed and very proud.
The gala presentation continued with a preview of the forthcoming production, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Ben Pearce performed “Close Every Door” which could not have been a better advertisement for the show.
As the evening progressed the audience were invited to participate in “Ding Dong Merrily on High” before the final performance of the evening by our very own Michael Buble, Adam Frankland. Adam encouraged everyone to “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and after several encores wished everyone a happy Christmas and good night.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the evening and to congratulate the students on their success.
