STAYING SAFE SUMMER 2018
All students received the end of year obligatory 'Staying Safe' assembly on Wednesday 11th July lead jointly by Vice Principal Ms Booth (lead DSL) and the local police.
The Pastoral team work closely with the police and a range of agencies throughout the year and for this summer the police are very keen to highlight the following local dangers/risks to students, parents and the community at large:
- Joy Riding
- Drugs, alcohol and antisocial behaviour in local parks
- Swimming and diving in Bardon quarry whilst intoxicated
- Entering dangerous and condemned derelict buildings
- E Safety and peer on peer abuse
The key message to students is to THINK before agreeing to a high risk activity that could both jeopardize their physical safety and could potentially lead to a criminal record. The police are working exceptionally hard to raise awareness of these dangers faced by our teenagers. Please see the ink for our well being leaflet that provides information about staying safe and who students and parents can contact during the summer if they need advice and guidance.
Have a safe and brilliant summer!
