National Grid Visit

Yesterday we were visited by members of National Grid, who conducted a lecture to several of our students who have demonstrated an interest in high level apprenticeships. The representatives of National Grid discussed the many wonderful opportunities which they offer for aspiring students looking for a degree level qualification after finishing their studies at King Edward VII.

The primary discussion points involved what National Grid actually does as a business, the future of National Grid, and their role in renewable energy. Primarily this focused on how National Grid aims to reach the government’s target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050, by building a net zero carbon energy work force. Through National Grid’s new talent program's they hope to build this work force which will meet their target, and through high level apprentices this could be a reality, and for a student of King Edward VII to help usher in this new carbon neutral future would be an exciting prospect.
