GCSE results 2019

This year has seen an outstanding increase in students obtaining Grade 8 and 9’s in many subjects including maths, English literature and language, science, history and geography.

Students achieving grade 4-9 in science subjects is particularly impressive with 84% students achieving this in chemistry, 86% in physics and 89% in biology. Students who studied combined science had a pass rate of 100%.

In design subjects, students did very well with a 100% pass rate in textiles, graphics, food and art. Whilst students who studied BTEC’s had a pass rate of 100% in health and social care, music, media, performing arts and sport.

With such a positive set of results, the college is set to have a record number of students staying on into sixth form.

Principal Jenny Byrne said,  “These are exciting times for the college and the wider community. As we move to join Apollo Partnership Trust, the opportunities for future generations of young people, in Coalville and the surrounding villages are extensive.

Together we will ensure that our students have access to high quality qualifications, apprenticeships and universities. Once again, 78% of students have secured places at top universities whilst others confirmed high-level apprenticeships with national, reputable companies.

It is with sincere thanks to the parents and families for all the support they have shown to the college and students in their journey. Well done everyone.”
