    Preparing for Apprenticeships and Employment

Not all students want to use university as a route to professional work. We offer a programme of support to help prepare young people with the skills to secure their transition into employment. We organise a number of workshops led by PROSPECTs (a specialist government agency that supports young people in finding appropriate work and training). For more details about the work of PROSPECTs follow the link below.

Students not going to university will have support in writing a professional looking C.V, drafting a letter of application and guidance on key interview techniques and skills. This will be delivered by a range of specialist staff. All students will receive a one to one interview with our PROSPECTs advisor Rachel Mills.

To support students in developing their employability skills tutors deliver a series of lessons in PSHE every Tuesday morning that raises their awareness. Students are then encouraged to log a range of activities experience in their enrichment programme that demonstrates where these skills have been met. Students can with confidence discuss this in a letter of application and/or during an interview.
