    Enrolment and Payment

    1. We try our best to accommodate your preferred day/time, subject to availability.
    2. An invoice will be issued to you prior to the new term.
    4. Your child’s place is only reserved for the next term on receipt of payment in full for all your children on the scheme.
    5. Children will not be allowed to swim if payment has not been made.
    6. We accept BACS (bank transfer) cash, or cheques made payable to King Edward VII College. If paying by cash or cheque please include your remittance slip with your payment. The College bank details will be on your invoice.
    7. Please use your child’s name followed by their date of birth as the payment reference.

    Teaching Policies, Procedures

    1. Parents should be aware that physical contact with children may be necessary in order to teach this activity. By signing the enrolment form, it is deemed you have given your consent.
    2. Children progress at different rates. Your child may not necessarily meet all the criteria to progress to the next level in one term and may sometimes remain in a class for a while in order to perfect the necessary strokes/skills. Further information is available on our website
    3. When your child is ready to move up to the next stage, we will contact you with availability. We try to keep disruption of day and time to a minimum; however, spaces are subject to availability and a time or day change may be necessary.
    4. We reserve the right to replace Swimming Teachers if necessary, once the term has started.
    5. We reserve the right to alter the time of a lesson where necessary.

    Cancelled Lessons and Pool Closure

    1. Staff Absence - It is our policy to provide a Swimming Instructor from our bank of Cover Staff. If cover is unavailable, we may combine classes if considered appropriate.
    2. If it is necessary to cancel a lesson, we will make every attempt to contact customers as soon as possible.

    1. If you withdraw your child from the Scheme a refund will NOT be issued.
    2. In the unusual event of a lesson cancellation or pool closure (e.g. staff sickness, snow or essential pool maintenance), a refund for the lesson will be issued in the form of a credit and will be deducted from the following term’s fee.
    3. Non-attendance – refunds will NOT be issued.

    Parental Responsibilities

    1. Parents/guardians MUST complete an enrolment form for each swimmer in full with current contact and medical details. Please inform us of any changes.
    2. Parents/guardians MUST remain on the premises during their child’s lesson. This is imperative in case of a medical emergency, building evacuation, or other emergency situation.
    3. Swimming Teachers are responsible for your child/ren during their lesson. Parents/guardians are responsible at all other times.
    4. For the safety of all swimmers, parents/guardians must refrain from distracting teachers during lessons. Should you wish to discuss your child’s lesson/progress, please contact the Leisure & Learning Department on 01530 516375, or email

    Changing Rooms & Poolside

    1. Children 8 years and over MUST use the appropriate changing rooms for their gender.
    2. No food or drink other than water in a plastic bottle is permitted on the poolside or in the changing rooms. Absolutely no glass in the sports complex building.
    3. Caution must be taken at all times; the poolside and the surrounding areas may be wet and slippery.
    4. Outdoor shoes are only permitted in the areas marked in black on the poolside. Blue shoe covers are available from the lifeguard, should you need to walk in any other areas.
    5. NO PUSHCHAIRS allowed on the poolside for Health & Safety reasons.
    6. No photography/filming is permitted on the poolside or in the changing rooms.
    7. King Edward VII Sport & Science College cannot be held responsible or liable for any loss, theft or damage to personal property left within the swimming facility.
