Teaching & Learning
We encourage all our students to aim high. Our qualified and experienced staff plan suitably challenging lessons to ensure we can constantly assess their progress towards GCSE and A level.
To ensure there are no "assumptions" about students' knowledge or their ability to learn, all students are continually monitored to ensure they are are on target to surpass their expected GCSE grades. Students will have external examinations in each term through years 10 and 11 - these marks and course work will count towards their final GCSE grades.
The College operates a policy of “every day matters, every lesson counts” and students’ attendance is monitored throughout the day via electronic registration. In addition the College uses “Truancy Call” which alerts parents on the first day of absence if notification has not been received from home.
"The majority of students like coming to college and have positive attitudes to learning" OFSTED May 2007
